notes:
(This is a 'live' recording into one mic) He wrote some classic songs The world will not forget He wasn't statuesque More like a statuette. He is forgotten now But once he was the king Of AM radio And that is why I sing.... I want to write a song as half as good As a ballad by Paul Williams And I would dress just like him if I could 'Cause I idolize Paul Williams I want to thank you Paul Your songs have touched us all. He flew like Icarus His wings began to melt He landed with a thud Imagine how he felt And he got up again To quickly fade away It doesn't matter now And that is why I say I want to write a song as half as good As a ballad by Paul Williams And I would dress just like him if I could 'Cause I idolize Paul Williams I want to thank you Paul Your songs have touched us all.
